Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to the most common questions about corsetry and Outer Underthings services.

Q. What does Overbust and Underbust mean?

A. Overbust corsets cover the breasts in some fashion. They are excellent pieces to be worn as their own 'top' as special occasion garments for weddings, or special outings.

Underbust corsets are made to end just underneath your breast line and have no cups and do not hold your breasts in any way. They are excellent corsets for wearing under clothing for a slimming effect, and also are great for a vested look over clothing.

Q. What is a Continuous Corset?

A. A Continuous Corset is a corset that has no busk. Instead of being two separate pieces that hook in the front and lace in the back, it is one solid piece that simply laces in the back. Many people prefer these kinds of corsets for events when they want a smooth front, or don't want the metal of the busk to show. The main drawback to this kind of a corset is that is takes more time to get into and get out of, because the laces must be loosened all the way to put the garment on.
